Many people live as if their roots are buried deep in the soil of this world—seeking success, security, and fulfillment in earthly things. But Jesus calls us to something greater: a life rooted in Him, drawing strength and purpose from His eternal Kingdom.
Rooted in Heaven, Not Earth
“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20).
This world is temporary, but our true home is in heaven. When we set our hearts on eternal things, it transforms how we live—shaping our priorities around faith, love, and God’s Kingdom.
Drawing Strength from Christ
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him.”(Colossians 2:6-7)
Just as deep roots sustain a tree through storms, being rooted in Christ anchors us in truth and strength. The deeper we grow in Him, the more steadfast we become, no matter what challenges arise.
Growing Toward the Sky
“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” (Isaiah 61:3)
Rather than anchoring ourselves in the shifting values of this world, God calls us to grow upward—toward Him. A life rooted in heaven draws nourishment from His presence, not from the fleeting things of this earth.
Are Your Roots in the Right Place?
Jesus invites us to be part of His Kingdom. If your heart has been set only on earthly things, it’s time to plant your roots in heaven by trusting in Christ.
