Have you ever exhausted all your options and come to the end of yourself? What do you do when you don’t know what to do next? The Bible encourages us to surrender everything to God and trust Him:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5–6
Life has moments that leave us confused, broken, and unsure of our next step. The way forward may seem hidden. Questions flood our minds. But take heart—God has not abandoned you.
First things first: turn to God.
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” – Jeremiah 33:3
When you’re unsure, don’t panic—pray. God invites you to call on Him. He knows the end from the beginning and is never caught off guard.
Then, be still and wait.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
God often speaks in the quiet. Take time to pause and listen. Waiting on God isn’t wasting time—it’s trusting Him enough to let Him move before you do.
Lean on the Word of God.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105
The Bible is not just a book—it’s a guide. When you don’t know what to do, read the Word. God’s promises are faithful, and His guidance is clear.
Seek wise counsel.
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” – Proverbs 15:22
God often speaks through others. Surround yourself with godly mentors, pastors, and friends who will speak truth into your life.
Do the last thing God told you.
Has God already given you a step, a calling, or a word you haven’t acted on yet? Go back to it. God often reveals the next step after we’ve obeyed the last one.
Finally, trust His timing.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
You may not understand what’s happening now, but God is working behind the scenes. His timing is perfect—even when it doesn’t make sense to us.
You may not know what to do—but God does.
He sees your confusion. He understands your pain. And He is ready to lead you—if you will trust Him.
Will you surrender the unknown to the One who knows all?
