Some years ago — about ten years back — I often found myself comparing my life with others. Friends, classmates, and colleagues I grew up with seemed to be hitting milestones faster: better jobs, marriages, financial breakthroughs, and other achievements.
I would sometimes wonder, “Why am I left behind? Why has God not taken care of my own story, despite my devotion and service to Him?”
But looking back now, I see clearly: God’s timing for each of us is unique. His plan for my life was never meant to run on someone else’s clock. What seemed like delay was actually preparation. And what I once thought was a setback was God aligning me with His perfect purpose.

God’s Timing Is Perfect
The Bible reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
Each of us has a different path, and God’s timetable for your life is not identical to your friend’s, sibling’s, or colleague’s. His agenda is always better than our own plans. What we see as “late,” God sees as “right on time.”

Our Responsibility While We Wait
Trusting God’s timing doesn’t mean sitting idle. Jesus said, “Watch and pray” (Matthew 26:41). Prayer keeps us connected to God, but “watching” requires effort, diligence, and responsibility.
To “watch” means:
• Stay faithful in worship and devotion.
• Stay excellent in your work and calling.
• Stay prepared by equipping yourself with knowledge and discipline.
• Stay alert to opportunities God may bring your way.
Waiting is not wasted time — it’s a season of preparation.

Living with Hope and Trust
At the end of the day, what matters most is not how quickly we achieve milestones, but how deeply we treasure our relationship with God. Where your heart is, there your life will be anchored. Matt. 6:21
So don’t be discouraged if it feels like others are ahead. Your story is unfolding in God’s perfect order. Your season will come, and when it does, it will be beautiful and complete — because your time is in His hands.
If you have not given your life to Jesus, you are living in uncertainty and you have no guarantee of the future. Call on Jesus right now and he will be glad to become your savior and friend. If you did, send us a message and we will pray with you also.
