The Bible reminds us that there are powers greater than human strength. Sometimes, it takes a Higher Power — the power of God — to deliver the captives of the mighty.
Scripture says:
“But thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.”
— Isaiah 49:25 (KJV)
The enemy, Satan, is described in Scripture as:
“Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)
The Bible also calls him “the prince of this world” (John 12:31), meaning he goes about daily seeking people to capture as his prey.
Think of it this way: when a farmer rears animals — chickens, turkeys, goats, or sheep — he feeds and cares for them. They seem to have it all: good food, protection, and comfort. Yet, unknown to the animals, the owner’s ultimate plan may be to sell or slaughter them.
This is exactly how the enemy operates. Some people may appear to be “enjoying” life apart from God — living freely and prospering — but beneath the surface, the devil’s plan is destruction.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
— John 10:10 (NIV)
Friend, do not remain a captive of the mighty. There comes a point when the damage is beyond repair, when the soul is too far gone. But today, there is still hope — because Jesus Christ came to deliver, redeem, and restore.
If you have not given your life to Jesus, now is the time to turn around. Only He has the power to set you free from the captivity of sin and darkness.
You can say this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me the opportunity to know You. Today, I surrender my life to You as my Lord and personal Savior. Deliver me from every captivity, and set me free from the power of sin and the enemy. Write my name in the Book of Life, and fill me with Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
If you prayed this prayer, rejoice — because the Lord has set you free.
“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)
