LOOK AND LIVE
“…when he look upon it, he shall live.” (Numbers 21:8)
The Problem of Sin
Sin has separated humanity from God and brought spiritual death. No amount of good works, religious activities, or human effort can save us from sin. We all need a Saviour.
In Numbers 21, the Israelites sinned against God and were bitten by fiery serpents. God instructed Moses to lift a bronze serpent upon a pole, promising that whoever looked at it would live. Those who believed God’s instruction and looked received life.
Jesus Christ: Our Answer
The bronze serpent pointed to the salvation that would come through Jesus Christ.
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”(John 3:14–15)
Jesus was lifted upon the cross to bear the punishment for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, He made eternal life available to everyone who believes in Him. Salvation is not earned through human merit; it is received by grace through faith in Christ.
Look and Live!
Perhaps you are burdened by sin, trapped in destructive habits, or troubled by guilt. Your answer is not to depend on your own strength but to look to Jesus in faith, repent of your sins, and receive Him as Lord and Saviour.
“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.”(Isaiah 45:22)
Do not allow pride, shame, or procrastination to keep you from Christ. The invitation is still open. Jesus is able to forgive your sins, restore your relationship with God, and give you eternal life.
Pray:
Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and cannot save myself. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I repent of my sins and receive You as my Lord and Saviour. Forgive me, give me eternal life, and help me live for You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
