ARE YOU READY FOR THE LORD’S RETURN?

Have you ever been warned of an impending danger, yet taken no precautions? In Matthew 24:1–13 and Matthew 25, Jesus Christ described the events that would characterise the last days, including wars, famines, earthquakes, deception, and increasing wickedness. He also warned that the love of many would grow cold, but those who endure to the end would be saved.
Similarly, 2 Timothy 3:1–5 describes the last days as perilous times when people would become lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God. Many of these conditions are evident in our world today, reminding us to take Christ’s warnings seriously.
These prophecies are not merely warnings but also a call to spiritual preparation. Through the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25, Jesus emphasised the importance of readiness, as some were unprepared when the bridegroom arrived.
First Thessalonians 5:2 reminds us that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. Since we do not know when He will return, we must remain watchful, steadfast in faith, and committed to God’s Word.
Moreover, every human life will eventually end. Whether Christ returns in our lifetime or not, we must all be prepared to meet our Maker. The question is not merely whether we recognise the signs of the last days, but whether we are ready for eternity.
