The moment was sombre as divine judgment and destruction hung deservedly over Jericho. The people had repeatedly violated God’s ordinances until their cup of iniquity was full and ready to overflow. Fire and fury were about to be unleashed, and no one was expected to escape—not even one!
Yet, hanging from a window on the city wall was a scarlet cord, swaying poignantly amidst the looming judgment. Rahab had displayed this scarlet rope as a sign of the covenant she had made with the Israelite spies during their covert visit. It was a mark of exemption and protection. As events unfolded, that scarlet thread became the saving grace for everyone within her household.
How symbolic this scarlet thread is for us today! As judgment for sin and darkness hangs over a fallen world, the blood of Jesus provides covering, protection, and exemption for all who place their faith in Him. That precious blood marks those who belong to God and secures their salvation.
Friend, you can enjoy peace in a world filled with chaos by finding refuge in Christ Jesus. Sin and Satan lose their power over anyone who comes under the covering of His blood.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge my sins and my inability to save myself. I receive Your forgiveness, mercy, and grace.
