Feed your Spirit

Feed Your Spirit

Just as our bodies need food to stay alive and healthy, our spirits need the Word of God.

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Bread is important for the body, but it is not enough for the whole of our existence. There is another part of us that needs to be fed, our spirit.

We eat food to build our bodies, gain strength, and develop physically. We may also exercise to keep ourselves healthy and strong. The Bible even tells us that physical exercise has some benefits. But it also reminds us that there is something far more important: spiritual growth.

Jesus said, “The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
When we feed our spirit with the Word of God, we become spiritually strong. Just as physical muscles grow through proper nourishment and exercise, our faith grows as we continually hear, read, believe, and obey God’s Word.

A strong spirit helps us stand when life becomes difficult. It helps us overcome temptation, resist the attacks of the enemy, make wise decisions, and remain faithful to God. It gives us strength to fulfill the purpose for which God placed us on earth. Instead of simply existing, we can live a purposeful life, a life that makes an impact.

Jesus is calling you today. You can receive Him as your Lord and Savior and begin a new life with God. Call upon Jesus NOW, he is waiting to hear from you.
